LEGEND #2 – Mario Daniel

Every week, Mario Daniel presents segments that provide an overview of the ski conditions at various ski areas in Quebec. With over 30 years of experience in the world of skiing, he brings a touch of smile and good cheer, making it the ideal way to get information about the ski conditions in Quebec. Behind this friendly columnist is a passion for skiing and decades of involvement in the sport.

Skiing: A Career

Mario began his career in the ski world in 1989 in the marketing department at Bromont, Montagne d’Expériences. Immersed in this world every day, he saw the coverage the major media gave to skiing in Quebec. It was his desire to change the way skiing was portrayed in the media that led him to create Ski Média 25 years ago.

Ski Média: Skiing Differently

When founding Ski Média, the idea was to create a network of contributors offering a unique approach. Today, the network includes around twenty contributors who write articles, produce videos throughout the season, and provide realistic coverage of the conditions on the mountains, as well as everything related to them. The articles allow readers to discover snow conditions through photos and videos and offer recommendations, in addition to introducing new ski areas and a variety of activities to do around the mountain.

Mario approaches skiing differently. He treats the sport from the perspective of fun. He loves skiing with friends or family. He also highlights the après-ski aspect of ski culture. The articles often provide recommendations for the best places to eat poutine and enjoy entertainment around the mountain. Because skiing is much more than just downhill runs!

A Passion That Travels Far

Describing himself as a ski enthusiast for as long as he can remember, Mario shares this passion with snow sports enthusiasts whenever the opportunity arises. He considers skiing the perfect activity to stay fit and maximize social interactions. The social side is never lacking in his life. He shares a lot with the people around him and the skiers he meets. He is still active as a ski instructor.

After all these years of skiing, his passion is still alive. He accompanies groups on ski trips organized by Voyages Gendron. What excites him is sharing his passion with other skiers who, like him, thrive on skiing down snowy slopes and enjoying breathtaking landscapes.
